KAAPA's mushroom tinctures are grown, produced and packaged in Finland. Only the organic fruiting bodies of the mushrooms are used in production. KAAPA has also developed the Extraction 2.0 method. This extraction process works on the basis of hot water and alcohol extraction combined with an ultrasonic assisted extraction.
Why this method? The cell walls of mushrooms are made of chitin, a fiber that is indigestible in the human gut. The chitin cell walls can be partially broken down with alcohol. The rest is broken down using Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction (VAE) technology. With the combination of water, alcohol and VAE, KAAPA is able to extract water-soluble and alcohol-soluble compounds from the mushrooms. The result? High-quality Reishi, Chaga, Lion's Mane, Maitake and Shiitake mushroom tinctures.
